In 1975 a Japanese woman became the first female to climb Mount Everest.  We celebrate her amazing feat with “Climb every mountain” from The Sound of Music

In 1749 the final volume of the novel Tom Jones was published.  We celebrate that event with “Delilah” from that great singer of modern times who shares the same name.

On this day in 1977 The Eagles went to No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Hotel California’, the group’s fourth US No.1 and  a No.8 hit in the UK.  It is a bit long -but worth listening too!
